What is bookkeeping?
To record the financial affairs of a business. 
So, basically, it’s organising and systemising the details of what happens in your business. It’s about capturing the bits of information on papers that float around your office, the car, the dog’s bed … and getting it all into one, organised system. It’s really a record of the incomings and the outgoings in the business.

The bookkeeping is like the bones that holds the body together, and the accounting is the skin that keeps it all in. (We hope you’re enjoying the visual that analogy created.)
What is the difference between a BAS Agent and a Tax Agent?
We are NOT tax agents. We cannot do anything related to income tax, that’s when you would speak to an accountant.

We don't do tax. We DO do the other stuff.
What is Data Entry?
Data entry is the process of entering information into a system

Data comes in lots of different forms. From Source documents like bills, receipts and bank statements through to the most common form of data entry in recent years …. the bank feed.

Who will actually work on my data?
We have an incredible team of data entry ninjas who will do the dirty work, so you don’t have to. You will have a team of at least two of our efficient bookkeepers working on your data - and you can get to know more about them here.
Will you work in my office?
With today’s climate and the advances in technology, we have the benefit of being able to provide an amazing service remotely. Our team of ninjas work efficiently from wherever they are and demonstrate their excellent communications skills by keeping in regular contact.

Part of our initial process at Indigo Bookkeeping is getting to know our clients and this means visiting their business and seeing them in action. It helps to put things in context and we also thoroughly enjoy getting to know the wonderful people they are.

Can you do personal tax?
We don’t do tax. No tax returns. Anything related to income tax, we can’t provide advice on.

An accountant is the ideal person to discuss personal tax matters with. 
Who do you need my bank statements?
Although your accounting software may have your bank feeds, we will still ask for your bank statements. The reason we need the bank statements is because the truth is, software can stuff up from time to time!

We use the bank statement to verify the balance. We like to be thorough and get the most accurate data for you, so this is a foolproof way to ensure you have accuracy in your data.
